IBM 1501492 controller + 70 MB ESDI HD?

I've got an old IBM 1501492 hard disk controller. It works fine with
a monsterous 10 MB hard disk (labelled IBM).
Now I have an old 70 MB ESDI hard disk (P/N 90X8528) from an old (but
probably still younger than the conroller) IBM PS/2 model 80.
The 1501492 controller seems to have capabilities for up to two disks (at
least the cable for a second one is there).
Now my question is: can the 1501492 controller take that 70 MB ESDI hard
disk as a second, or first, or as the only disk?
If so where do I have to change something? Do I have to make some changes
in the BIOS? currently that 10 MB hard disk works (as drive C:) even
though it's indicated as "not installed" in the BIOS. It's a 1991 AMI 386
BIOS.
Any hints are welcome. Thanks.
