I agree that TOM isnt the most knowledged person, but there are plenty of previews out there made by others, one good example is www.sharkyextreme.com And i dont think the hardware will change very much, 3dfx is going to ship their cards soon, and cant realy make any changes to the hardware, perhaps change the clockspeed a couple of notches. But as several people have had problems running the v3500 cards att full speed i doubt they will run any faster than 183mhz. TNT2 will atleast run in 150mhz, that is official, no real upper limit has been set, they more or less say that their chip can make it higher and that it is upp to the card manufacturers to decide what speed to use. The Diamond v770 card tested ran at 175mhz, and the test showed that above 150mhz the speed gain wasnt linear any more, probably because the memory begins to limit the rendering speed, so if it runs at 170 or 180 dont matter that much. I am quite sure the TNT2 and v3 vill be equaly fast running 16bit games with small texture sets with low resolution, start to use more textures and hihgher resolution on them, and the TNT will speed away. >-- >Angelo > >
