                ** PS/2 mouse info wanted **

I have a ps/2 mouse (genuine microsoft) which I am trying to convert to
serial.  I know that a serial mouse will work on a ps/2 (I have an adapter,
also by ms, for exactly that purpose).  Therefore, I have jumped to the
conclusion that it should be possible to reverse-engineer the rodent.

Unfortunately, having made all the correct connections, nothing happens
(ie the driver is trying to talk to the mouse, but seems to get no reply).
Is there something fundamentally different about a ps/2 mouse?  Or do I
need to change a jumper inside the mouse?

btw, it does not seem to use td/rd as I would have expected, but a rather
strange combination of dcd/ri and cts.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
