: No, ZIF version 3 doesn't automatically mean it has 3.3 Volts power
: supply. I am going to buy a Soyo motherboard this week with a "ZIF socket 3",
: with a 486DX2-66MHz which uses 5 Volts. The color of the socket is white.
: The motherboard I want to buy has a Green PC function and a LOT of jumpers.
: Perhaps also a jumper to set the processor voltage to 3.3V, I don't know.
Well it should have seeing as socket 3 has been declared as the only socket to
be able to take the DX4 chip which needs 3.3V!
: Furthermore, I've heard the first version of the ZIF socket is blue, and
: I don't know about the ZIF socket version 2. Some people say the blue ZIF
: socket will NOT be compatible with the P24T (Pentium Overdrive), because
: of heat problems, and in one store somebody told me the ZIF socket 2 can
: blow up the processor in rare cases... (I don't know if that is true).
