> Forcing an AT to recognise a disk change: I had a similar problem trying to install an OLD 360K drive on an HP Vectra (an AT). The newer drives have pin 34 hooked up as a disks-been-changed line but on the older drives (which I had) pin 34 has a different meaning. I solved this (from a book on upgrading PCs) by carefully taking apart the header plug to the drive and isolating the outermost wire on the edge without the stripe (pin 34). When this line is open it forces the PC to read the directory information from the drive every time - as it thinks the disk has always been changed - it works a treat!
