Borland C++ 3 is going crazy on me ?

I'm constantly losing control over the IDE. Sometimes after some series of keypresses (I can't identify any particular precipitating conditions) I lose control. The mouse only moves on the perimeter of the screen, and does so erratically, random screens fly by me (mostly help), my computer makes little clicking sounds, and I can't use the keyboard to stop it. _Sometimes_ if I wait and am very still, everything will calm down and I can type (only, stil can't use the mouse) an ALT-Q to get out. If I then restart, everything is OK. This is really aggravating since _sometimes_ the thing never allows me to exit at all and I lose whatever I was editing. I have never had any problems like this with any other computer program. Has someone out there experienced this ? Can some *please* help me ? Because I'd hate to have to go back to Quick C 2.0... Thanks in advance.

Borland C is finicky about where you load the mouse driver. Try playing
with your config.sys

I, too have a problem with their 3.1 IDE -- it seems to be confused about
which ersion of the EXE to use when RUNning the code.
If I use the Run menu's Run command to make and then exec my code, it seems
to run some image from a version ago, instead of the results of the compile.
If, on the other hand, I simply do a Make, and then use FileMan or somesuch
to exec the resultant EXE file, it seems fine.
What's with this thing, anyway?

I am not positive about how to solve your problem, since I have never encountered this behavior using BCC 3.1, I think that it might have to do with your directory settings. There is a setting in the directories dialog box which specifies where object files are saved when compiling. If this is not your current directory, then perhaps RUN gets confused when it is told to execute a particular program and fill find the executable in the "current directory" before the newly-compiled one in the object-code directory. If you are not compiling in the directory to which object code is saved, try changing to that directory and then selecting RUN from the IDE.
