Yes, I did.  I saved site dependent configuration files such as sendmail.cf
and net, reinstalled the software and reloaded the configuration files.
I also ran /usr/lib/sendmail -bz.

BTW, when I reinstalled sendmail, the directory /usr/adm/sendmail/aliasesDB
was missing, I had to create it manually.  I suspect that there is another
missing directory that I have to create.  Here is the content of the
/usr/adm/sendmail directory now:

Am I missing something?

Another possibility is that since I didn't reinstall all the operating
system utilities (small hard disk syndrome), I might have missed a utility
which is needed for ftp and sendmail.  I did reinstall:

	* base operating system
	* programming support
	* vi
	* gsl
	* sendmail
	* TCP/IP
	* inter-workstation commands (I added this later after I got
				these problems, is the order important?)
