Dear netters - I need an idea which will hopefully solve my problem... I bought to my good old 286 IBM compatible a hard disk ( 80 mega piece ). The installation worked fine... but some programs show a very strange phenomena where all of a sudden, in the middle of running, the screen blacks-out. My computer used to be without a hard disk, and I have many programs that used to run from floppy. I used before and now Dos 5, and it seems that there is no different between the two situations. The funny thing is that the programs which show this phenomena continue to run as expected when the computer is booted from floppy. Another funny issue it that the same program may or may not create the phenomena when run, and i see no consistency in it. If it may helps, here are the technical details: I have a @VGA wizard/deluxe 5.0 adapter, with 512K video memory ( extendible to 1M ) The color display is PACKARD BELL I have 1M memory on the computer. I will appreciate any idea. Email response could be fine ( amit@acri.fr ) Thanks in advance. Amit.
