I'm wondering if in order to take full advanatge of a local bus video card, if the application has to recognize that the data path to the card is 32 bits as opposed to 16, 8 bits. Applications I'm talking about are normal VGA or SVGA type of DOS apps. I'm aware that regardless of the width of the data path, you'll get a local bus advantage because the speed of the bus runs at processor speed. The reason I ask is that I just recently purchased a noname 486-33 ET-4000 Local Bus Motherboard and Video. I'm really not seeing a big performance boost over my old 386-40 with Orchid Pro IIs card. Please email and I'll sum to the net if interest. Thanks, -edg-
