If you have access to any hp9000 kit, running unix, then they do a whole
range of development software, mainly to support their emulators, which come
to think of it can also be hosted on PC so the development software must be
available on that platform too. Not that I'm advising their 80c196 emulator
on anyone, its definitely, ah, different (any HP people listening ?). The
intel kit is quite good however, I'm not sure it they do a C complier though,
but they do support some sort of HHL.

We evaluated both systems, and found the intel system much more complete, as
they use a 'bond-out' chip in the emulator allowing them access to the intel
registers, SFR & timers etc, and also allowing trace/break to be performed
on EXECUTION of instruction rather than FETCHES (a major headache in all
other 80c196 emulation systems). Intel DOES NOT sell the bond out chip to
anyone else, so there emulator must be superior to the others.

Regards

Ian.
