J&L Information Systems had a huge booth last week at Networks Expo in Boston, next to IBM and 3Com, showing their 28-server Chatterbox rack-mount in cabinets called ChatVantage. They control the processors with their SNMP-compliant ChatView NLM and Chatlog NLM. One keyboard and monitor can view and control over 100 Intel processors in a particular configuration. Regarding hot swap capabilities, processor units can be upgraded or maintained while under power, without affecting the servers. This was a very busy booth at Networks Expo. J&L doesn't have their WWW site running quite yet, but can be contacted at their office in Chatsworth, Calif. at (818) 709-1778 or (800) 456-1333. This high-density packaging of Intel servers would appear to be the wave of the future. Mike Willett, Storage Computer Corp., http://www.storage.com
