---------- i8051 - We Need To Find Assembler ------------------------

I'm one of a two student team doing a design project
in preparation for graduation with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering.

What we are trying to find is a cross assembler for the i8051 that
will run on a PC or compatible.

The stock stuff that Intel sells is too much for the pocket book
and we were hoping to find a public domain assembler that would
suffice. We will be using an EPROM burner for the final transfer
to the microcontroller. If we can just get something that won't
break our bank acct, we'll consider buying it.

I've heard that there are C compilers/assemblers that may also do
the job so any info on those would be appreciated as well.

A reply via email would be better, but I'll check for
info in this newsgroup as well.

Thanks,
