BIOS 10005cb0.EXE - - is it corrupt?

I tried upgrading my BIOS on an Endeavour Board (socket 7 with 6
pin J1N1). I am running a P166 so the pins J1N1 are appropriately
jumpered.

I have no problem upgrading with version 4. When I try the above
I get a message that the image is corrupt or that the machine can
not be flash upgraded?

My mistake.

The first image I had *was* corrupt. The second one had not
overwritten (ie I had not overwritten) the bad one.

Upgraded now.

Question: Why isn't IRQ 15 made available to te user if the
secondary IDE is diabled? Some network cards give that IRQ as an
option, few cards offer 12...

My questions about the sound remain..

What is the ISA memory option for?

I don't know if it constitutes corruption, but I had the same problem
when I re-installed 5CB0 to replace MRBIOS. I had to follow the "BIOS
catastrophy" method before I could get 5CB0 to install.

In the month since, my Endeavor system has been flawless....

Actually you could have just restored your AMI bios from the backup
you created when you installed MRBIOS. Then you could have flashed in
the new BIOS. The flash loader supplied from Intel doesn't work w/
MRBIOS.

David, I have a Zappa board which I have upgraded with no problem, You dont say
if you've upgraded this board before, also is your upgrade from the Intel BBS
and the correct upgrade, or some other source, also is the board running at the
moment or are you in the postion of failed post. If however your existing Bios
is currupt there could be a jumper on your board that will allow you to reset.
If its a new Bios then you could download it again and try again. Hope this may
be of help.

Dont put off until tomorrow what you can do today, because if you do it
today and like it, you can do it again tomorrow.
