I just installed Connectix PowerBook Utilities version 1.0i on my
PowerBook 160. There are a couple of problems with the utilities,
and Connectix is working on fixes ("in a week or two"). In the
meantime, I would recommend that PowerBook 160 and 180 owners wait to
purchase CPU.
The problems are:
LCD (screen) Saver is incompatible with switching screen depths. CPU
is kind enough to warn you about this, and the work-around is to
disable LCD Saver.
When backlighting dims automatically, it should brighten immediately
when there is keyboard activity. I believe it should also come on if
you move the mouse. CPU 1.0i does not respond correctly,
so sometimes the backlight does not come on.
I should mention that most of the utilities provided by CPU (screen-saver,
security, battery monitor, prevention of rest mode, etc.) are
also provided by several shareware programs available by ftp from info-mac.
