If I had a mathematical model of neoplastic cell growth and wanted to implement it as a model on the Mac, I'd look toward either: The Mathematica/Theorist/Maple equation-modeling approach. This produces nice colored and 3-D graphics, but playing with the model requires an algebraic line of thought. or The dynamic system modeling approach, as in Extend from Imagine That! Software. This is an interactive modeling package akin to the olde analog computer and patchboard, but implemented with Mac icons. The underlying language is very much like C with object-like extensions. Using both, I prefer Extend, as I am more a visual thinker than an algebraic one. Rob Lake BP Research, Environmental Modeling Center also: Dept.
