OK, I'll risk starting a flamewar :-)... I recently posted a response to the question on the Subject line, saying that you are legally obliged to either pay the shareware fee on shareware you're using, or to delete it from your disk. I got several responses by email asking what the legal precedent was. Does anyone know of one? I don't keep up with software court cases! Actually, I don't see why any special law is necessary. If the shareware license provided by the author says that you've got to pay if you keep it, then that's that! Similarly, consider the used-car dealer who says you can take the car for a test drive. If you never come back from the test drive, are you not stealing? -Ralph -- Ralph Gonzalez, Computer Science, Rutgers Univ., Camden, NJ Phone: (609) 757-6122; Internet: rgonzal@elbereth.rutgers.edu --
