How do I convert .tar files to Mac text files, or .ps files to >> files which my piddly little Mac can interpret? If you're using MS Word, there is a builtin postscript "style". Just select the entire document and apply the style. If it's the first time you've ever used the style, it won't show up in the list of styles in the box, so you type in the name like it's a new style. Afterwards it will show in the list. Otherwise MS Word thinks it's just another document. Another way to do this on the Unix side is to set the PRINTER variable to one of the public laserwriters, and use a postscript filter like ps, gs, or ts, like: lpr -Pps 'document'. >There are two solutions. StuffIt Deluxe 3.04 will unTAR. Or if you prefer >the .ps file you _download_ that file to your postscript printer. Most >PS printers come with a utility to download a file to the printer. Laser Font Utility is one such utility, but I'm not sure the public machines have such utilities. Pax ex machina, Glenn g-carnagey@uchicago.edu
