I recently set up an LC III as a "headless" Mac.

I called Farallon about this. After a couple of iterations, I got the
information that the headless Mac needs to be fooled into thinking that a
monitor is attached to it. Solution in my case was to by a Mac-to-VGA
adapter (Sony model ???) and attach it to the Mac's monitor port. No
problems after that.

I encountered the same problem. The adapter solved this.

Haven't encountered this.
