Hello together,

I just browsed this newsgroup to find out about a problem which bugs us
with Excel 5.0. We acquired this program via a "Microsoft Select" deal
as part of the Microsoft Office package.

We bought several licenses and installed them on a couple of PowerMacs
in our lab. Indeed, Excel run quite fine until yesterday :-/ When
we try to start the program now, it complains that it cannot find
a file called Microsoft_OLE2 and then quits. This happened on two of
three PowerMacs in our lab. I looked with the "FindFile" option of
the finder for this filename on the PowerMac which is still working,
and can't find this file. (The PowerMacs which don't work any more
run System 7.1, the other PowerMac runs 7.5.)

It would be great if somebody could enlighten me what is going
on. Microsoft Germany itself has denied assistance. I am aware of the
fact that, as a last resort, I could reinstall Excel, but it took
a colleague of mine (who is more versed in Macs than me) three days
to install the whole Office package, so I would really like to avoid
a new installation.

Thanks in advance,

--Cornelius.
