In his response to a D&S message, libby@berg.asd.sgi.com (Jeff Libby)
indicates that he believes the oft-reported version 5.0 file size
problem is not as severe as many others have indicated (ie, it does
not grow without limit, but rather stays at the high water mark).

That's good news, because I really like D&S, and have hesitated to
get 5.0 because of this problem. Other reports indicate that D&S
is perhaps no longer an orphan - that too is great news.

For a long time,I've been successfully and happily running version
4.1C under OS 6.0.x (I think x is 7 or 8), with quite a large and
active set of accounts and thinking about 5.0. The only restraints
I've imposed upon myself are to make entries only from within asset
or liability accounts, and never to cite the same account more than
once in a single transaction.

Request for comments:

   1 - Is 5.0 happy under OS 6, or does it need 7?

   2 - What are the advantages of switching from 4.1C
       to 5.0?
