Hi again,
I'm sorry to ask another question [I'm hogging up bandwidth :} ].
I am converting a FileMaker Pro 1.0 database into a 4D relational database.
The version of 4th DIMENSION I am using is 2.0.10. The "About 4th
DIMENSION" in the apple menu says that is a single-user configuration.
My boss wants me to set the new database up so that people can login
and access the information from any MAC on our network. The MAC with
the database will be located in her room, but the information needs to
be accessed at various locations. Since this is a single-user
configuration will I be able to do this?
I don't think our version of 4D can do this. If I can't, how can I get around
this?
If someone has the time, could they explain to me the difference between
single-user, multi-user, client, server, driver and engines? [They
never taught this to me in class and I don't know where else I am going
to find info on this.] All information will be greatly appreciatedd.
Thanks everyone.
Dave
