I am thinking of reading Filemaker Pro files with Hyper Card. Is it possible? If it is possible, how do I do it? Or if there is a way to read 4D files with Hyper Card, that will be fine, too. The thing is that I want to teach English to Japanese children using the Mac. I am thinking of making a database full of questions and answers. The children use Hyper Card to look at the question and answer it. Then I correct their answers. I wonder if it was right to post this to comp.sys.mac.databases. Was it better to post to comp.sys.mac.hypercard. Thankyou for your attention. Kotaro Kato Deiters Laboratory Electrical & Electronic Engineering Dept. Well, unless you know the format of the data stored in a FM Pro
database file or a 4D data file, then you will have to export the data
to a tab-deliminated text file and use Hypercard to read the information
in from there.

kotaro@galle.ee.sophia.ac.jp (Kato Kotaro) There is a product available from Metropolis Software, Inc, in California called MSI Access. This product allows a single user 4d database to act as a network server to up to 100 remote sites (localtalk connected), which sites can use Hypercard, 4d, Prograph or native code. It's fast, inexpensive, and reasonably bug free. For further information contact MSI at (415) 322-2001 or fax to (415) 327-5579. I have used this product, and think it will do exactly what you want, if the macs are appletalk connected. Chuck
