Hello Everyone,
I am having a problem disabling 4th dimension buttons. Is there a
specific place that I have to disable the buttons (ie. Only in layout
procedure). Currently, i am using a global procedure an saying "DISABLE
BUTTON(button)", pretty standard stuff huh. However, my button will not
become disabled. I am
currently using 4th Dimension v2.2.1.
If anyone out there could help me I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advanced,
Jason Herman

I've tried disabling buttons from the startup script (since I didn't find a way to set the button disabled by default). That didn't work however, it seems that the layout must be displayed before the buttons can be disabled. I don't think it should matter what kind of procedure is doing the disabling, but then, you never know with 4D... A related question, I guess there is no way to disable a popup menu? -- Mats Johnson, CMD, Uppsala University, Laegerhyddsvaegen 18, S-752 37 UPPSALA Mats.Johnson@CMD.UU.SE

You can test for this using 'IF (BEFORE)' of placing ':(BEFORE)' in a case of. 'BEFORE' is a function that returns true during the before part of the execution cycle and false otherwise. Example: if (before) disable button (<button name>) end if Bill Jamison rwj@engr.latech.edu st25370@vm.cc.latech.edu
