In case anyone is at all interested, after talking to Jo Naylor (new
person in charge of cleaning up the dealers), I had another go at getting
a replacement door under warrantee (for when the door I bought dies) and
got another resounding "No" from local dealers. I then phoned Apple in
Sydney who informed me that the _only_ warrantee caims for PB 5300s that
they would entertain were those covered by the 7-year extended warrantee,
but no others. To say that I was surprised is putting it mildly!

The 5300 is still a very nice machine, just a pity about the company behind it.
