Ummmm...nothing. The Toshibas that are down here feel soft and flimsy. And none of these run OS8! Inferior machines. > Some of us only need a good, moble wp, and email machine for the road. Geez, the 1400 has a brand new case design and the QC and build quality is the most stringent that Apple has ever subjected a PB to.. and it shows! The machine is SOLID and BUILT WELL. Just miffed about the fact that they didn't bother to update the guts inside when they built this successor to the 5300. And the best keyboard out there. > to mention that the construction, materials, and keyboard are from > everything I've > read, better than the 3400(not that the 3400 is bad). The 3400 ROCKS, speed and screen wise. However, it feels and looks like a 5300 that is 1/2 inch deeper. The plastics feel weird and the screen is mega-heavy. Meaning that it tips over. It feels flimsy like a 5300. I should know...I owned one. Apple made the mega PB..it really should have invested some time to give it a sturdier case. This is a response to all the people that have been badmouthing the 1400. I own one of these too. The prices that I've seen used are typical. When you factor in tax comparing to buying a new one OR a low end 3400 like so many have recommended, the amount is substantial. For the People that say the 1400 is worth only $1K: If the 1400 did not have the new case and keyboard, I would agree with the naysayers. However, the 1400 is a sturdier machine and has not had as many documented problems as the 3400. Plus, the machine is ROCK SOLID save for one thing... The only bitchy thing on the 1400 is getting that damn IR File Exchange to work.... But that's not a vital thing. Like a modem.
