This is very strange. I recently upgraded from CWPro 6 to 7, and Mac OS X seems to think my executable has turned into a ResEdit file. If I double-click on it from the Finder, it opens up in ResEdit to reveal the resources contained therein (it's a single-file Carbonized app). I can still launch it from within CodeWarrior without a problem. The previously compiled version I made with CWPro6 still launches correctly. If I Show Info on the file, it is identified correctly as an Application. Somewhere in the bowels of OS X there must be a database of what files belong to which applications, and I think maybe mine got corrupted somehow. Any idea how I might fix this? Edward Chew

Find the application in the OS X finder and do a command i on it and
you will see a launch with option. That must be set for ResEdit.
Probably the first time you opened an application of that type in OS X
it was from ResEdit.
that is my guess.
The "desktop file" in OS X can be rebuilt by removing the three files
beginning "LS" in "~/Library/Preferences" and restarting Finder.

At some point, you selected one of the rsrc files which get compiled into your application in the Mac OS X Finder, and in the Finder Inspector window you selected "open with --> ResEdit". That put a 'usro' resource in the .rsrc file, which you are now building into your app, causing the Finder to open your app with ResEdit. Find the offending file and remove the resource. hth meeroh -- Hire me: <http://meeroh.org/hire.html>
