I'd like to write some programs for the Palm, but I don't want to buy the full CodeWarrior suite just so I can write "Hello, World". I see that Palm has some freeware tools, prc-tools, that will work on unix. I haven't tried yet, but they be built with OS X. Has anybody built these tools as plug-ins for CodeWarrior? Failing that what is the cheapest way to dabble with some Palm programs from the Mac? Thanks, -Mark --

You would probably do better asking this question in the pilot.programmer.gcc newsgroup hosted by news.falch.net. That group is frequented by the maintainer of prc-tools and his many helpers. I know there has been some effort to get prc-tools working on Mac OS X lately, and there's an untested tarball at http://www.bluenomad.com/prctools/prctools-macosx.tar.gz that may be useful. I hope after you've gotten a chance to try out Palm OS programming that you'll reconsider the CodeWarrior tools, especially if its something you find that you enjoy doing. -- Ben Combee <bcombee@metrowerks.com> CodeWarrior for Palm OS technical lead Get help at http://palmoswerks.com/
