KeyAccess Overview

KeyAccess is a user authentication mechanism. Using KeyInstall, the NeXTstep
developer can install and have operating the KeyAccess object in minutes. The
developer then has a powerful and robust user authentication mechanism,
uniquely solving the developers authentication needs. The end user only sees
the KeyAccess once, when they are asked to validate a new copy of the software.

Feature List

o Automated installation in the project folder, with KeyInstall.
o Demo mode support.
o Transparent Client/Server functionality.
o HostID, Network Concurrent, and UserID floating licensing scheme.
o Robust validation correction, on unexpected application
  termination.
o On demand validation, almost negating network load issues.
o One KeyGenerator issued to each developer reducing software support
  at the developer's site.
o Host and Network validation mechanisms.

KeyDaemon Overview

KeyDaemon is a small and powerful Server for the Key family of objects. The
installation process for the System Administrator/End User is quick. There is
no network rebooting required. KeyDaemon and KeyAccess follow the
Server/Client model. KeyAccess is responsible for requesting validation of
program copies on a NetInfo network. The communication protocol is robust,
checking for zombied copies of programs, and freeing network licenses for use
if a validated program terminates prior to properly checking back the license.

Feature List

o Transparent Client/Server functionality.
o Low disk space overhead on distribution media.
o HostID, Network Concurrent, and UserID floating licensing scheme.
o Robust validation correction, on unexpected application
  termination.
o On demand validation, almost negating network load issues.
o Host and Network validation mechanisms.
o Shadow database management and security.
o Clone Server support.

KeyInstall is what the developer uses to install the KeyAccess object into
their project directory. The process takes about 2-3 minutes and they a couple
of minutes if the developer wishes to instantiate and connect the object in the
nib file of the project. With a simple double-click, the developer has
installed the power of a robust User Authentication mechanism. KeyInstall is
shipped with all KeyAccess objects to the purchaser of the KeyAccess package,
specific to that project.

Features
