Version 3.0 Mean all new Apps?

I noticed that an app I wrote, when recompiled by someone else under
3.0 had to be changed somewhat. I haven't determined yet what had to
be changed or why, but am wondering. Does this mean that the present
versions I have of Improv, Touch, Opener, etc. etc. etc. might not work
under 3.0? Will I have to get version 3.0 releases of all of these?
