Hi,
Work has been hectic so I've not had the time to follow a
couple of threads I'm interested in as attentively as I would
have liked. What I'm interested in is what functionality project
manager supplies and (most importantly) if it supports revision
control. (While I can't imagine something called ProjectManager
not supporting revision control; what I can and cannot imagine is
not too important here.)
Currently, I'm using CVS to do revision control on my
Next project directories. This works OK but like any command line
procedure, could certainly be easier with a nice front end.
If this is a redundant topic please drop me some email rather
than cluttering the group with useless posts.
Thanks!

(again, 3.0 types correct me if I'm wrong) It is indeed called ProjectBuilder and that's the appropriate name because it does NOT support revision control. Given the way it interfaces with gdb and Edit and the way gdb interfaces with Edit, you can happily edit, compile, link and debug without ever entering a shell. So the lack of GUI for revision control is even more obvious than it was under NS 2.0. CVS users are in for a shock when they get NeXTSTEP 3.0. Nib files have been turned into directories, and CVS will thus put its CVS subdirectories in them on checkout. InterfaceBuilder, of course, doesn't know anything about CVS, and will effectively remove them when you edit the nib. A workaround for the above problem is in the works, stayed tuned for announcements. The real fix has to come from NeXT and I understand it has high priority for some future release. -- Paul F. That really bites -- I was afraid of it though. I'm fairly surprised NeXT didn't include Source Code control. Afterall, having a built in code library system would be a big plus for mission critical apps. Ah Well..... Bummer. -Chris
