But what it looks like to me is that NeXT has, for example, built in the possibility of non-english spelling dictionaries. Great. Now, will it let a third party make some $$$ by shipping one? Similarly, if you bring up the language part of the Target->Inspector of DL, it looks like it has the capability to load indexing rules for other languages, but none are provided. (The place to put those rules appears to be /NextLibrary/Readers, or I guess, /LocalLibrary/Readers.) If NeXT intends to include some rules for other languages in 3.1, then fine, and I will be a happy camper. But *will they*, or will they let a third party do it and sell it to us? If NeXT is short on resources to do this stuff, why doesn't it contract a third party to do the work and then bundle it with its OS? > Anyway, I think NeXT is just making progress > step-by-step, and this step was providing > architectural support. Maybe I expected too much out of 3.0.
