Scott Hess's fix (turn off 'tabs can wraparound' in Stuart 2.4) worked for my problem. Thank you again, Scott! I just thought that I'd add something that I said to Scott in email: I hope that it is clear (I wish that it were self evident) that I really appreciate tcsh - otherwise why would I bother using it?
