  Why not just use the NetInfoManager.app?  It's real easy;

	1) launch NetInfoManager.app from your WorkSpace
	2) select "machines"
	3) select your machine's node name; "bowen"
	4) double click on "bowen" to open it
	5) select "name" in the Properties column
	6) select "New Value" in the "Directory" submenu of the main menu
	7) change "new_value" to "localhost" in the Values column
	8) save your changes & close the Properties/Values window

  It worked for me.
