Indexing with DL ?

I need a hint how to prepare indexes for some file sets.
More specifically, I have put into my bookshelf the following directories:
	/NextLibrary/Documentation/NextDev/ReleaseNotes
	/NextLibrary/Documentation/NextDev
	/NextLibrary/Documentation/NextAdmin
	/NextLibrary/Documentation/ManPages
	/NextLibrary/Documentation

After moving the appropriate icons from the WM to the DL Window, the icons
were placed in the DL's shelf, with a little circle in the left upper corner
and the "I" letter inside. This suggested, that the existing index was
recognized. One could also use the DL's operations "List Titles" and "Search"
with expected result.

The "Bookshelf/Save" was executed, to update the bookshelf file.

But then, after quitting the DL, and starting it again, I have noticed that
the "I" letter disappeared. First after re-making the indexes with
the "Target Inspector/Set Up", the "I" letter came back and remained permanent.

Still, I would prefere to use the original indexes (copied during the NS3.0
installation). Is it possible ?

And another problem: I could not make indexes for the "ManPages" - the indexing
utility has hanged just at the start. In the "ManPages" subdirectory I have
found ".index.itype" (with "manso" contents) and ".index.iname" (with "whatis
cat1 ... cat8" contents). Still, I did not see DL using those files
during (attempt of) indexing.

Thank you for help ...
