Hello, network enthusiasts! This may SOUND like a silly question, but there's actually a very good reason for it: Is there any way I can uupoll the uucp server that receives my mail using the internet? I know the server has a valid address, and using tellnet I've successfully logged in manually onto my uucp account there (though with the uucico shell, that doesn't do me much good). I am interested in doing this because I have access to SLIP service, but since under the current arrangement my IP address changes every time I bring up the SLIP connection, I can't reliably receive mail by internet. Since the SLIP connection is sometimes up for a couple hours at a time, my modem isn't free for UUCP use, and my mail backs up significantly. If anyone can pass on an appropriate L.sys entry or other pointers, I'll be eternally grateful. Alex Levine alevine@ucsd.edu NeXTMail accepted (finally!).
