Following a recently posted suggestion, I just replaced my fingerd and finger with new versions (from moo.speech.cs.cmu.edu, as I recall). These give much more useful replies to "finger", but I have no real documentation for them. In particular, they look for information about a user other than a name: in particular, office, office phone, home phone. I can't figure out where to record such information. "passwd -f" is the natural way, but NeXT's version just tells me Cannot change finger information or shell with NetInfo (yet). (the same as trying to chsh). Is there any other way to do this? I really did try to RTFM, but can't find anything relevant. --Steve Anderson
