I just got a color turbo and wish to boot off my external hard drive, as I do on my mono station. On that unit, after getting the Next> prompt I type bsd(1,0,0) -a, wait a bit and enter sd1a in response to the prompt on the screen. Everything works fine. Following the instructions in the System Administration book, on the turbo I follow the same steps. However, in this case after a bit of info on the screen I get the message "exception #5 (0x14) at ....". I must then enter bsd to boot from my internal. Does anyone have any idea why this procedure does not work on the new machine? The only difference I can see is that the turbo has 2.1 and 2.0 in on the external drive. If convenient, could any responses be emailed? Thanks, Dick Fell
