Has anyone else experienced problems with mounting optical disks in a NextCube running v3.0. Ever since I updated to 3.0 I couldn't load any of my backup optical disks. I know the drive is fine because I can log in as root and screw around with the fsck and mount commands until I finally get it to not spit out the disk. Then it'll mount fine and I can access all the info on the optical disk. I need to power down and power up in order to eject the disk. disk -e doesn't work on the optical drive. Has anyone else seen this problem ? Harry Vlahos vlahos@cubism.portal.com

I haven't had a single problem with Opticals under 3.0 - and I also had backups as well as other important info on about six different disks all formatted under 2.1, 2.2 and 2.2a However, when the System panics, I do end up Repairing any disk that is inserted (the repair is as expected, but the panic is not :-( -- Brian Willoughby Software Design Engineer, BSEE NCSU BrianW@SoundS.WA.com Sound Signal Processing Software and Consulting NeXTmail welcome - NO EMAIL SOLICITATION without prior permission
