I successfully installed the wuarchive ftpd, and had it working for a day and a half, only to have it break not long after attempting to install a wais server (wais-8.b4). The welcome banner (banner.msg) displayed when someone ftp's to my machine is displayed but after the user enters a userid (anonymous or whatever), a message is returned saying the service is not available. I really really need the logging and message capabilities of this daemon for a project I am working on. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Especially the line class local real, anonymous nobugs friday nanno xxx.xxx.xxx.* 0.0.0.0 is important for users to gain access. Replace the xxx.xxx.xxx with the site part of your internet address and everything should work fine. -- Bernhard Nocker Beware root :-) University of Salzburg's Department of Computing Studies Jakob-Haringerstr. 5 5020 Salzburg Austria, Europe +43-662-8044/6750 bnocker@cosy.sbg.ac.at
