I recently read a post (I think) in c.s.n.a. about using Next's as a front end for rs6000 (rs is for rat s---). Due to the row in that newsgroup posting there is a problem. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Bill -- "IF!..IF!!...If a frog had wings he wouldn't scrape his butt a-hoppin'!" -Nathan Arizona bailey@casbah.acns.nwu.edu

Typically people use Edit to write their code, Stuart to connect to the IBM, xlf on the IBM to compile their code, run the code, and use nxyplot, mathematica, SciPlot, and hippoplotimus to look at results, and FrameMaker and TeX to write their papers. The Nexts and the IBM's share a common user filespace via NFS. There are basically two programs that people run on the console of the IBM's. XV and flight.
