I'm not thrilled at all about the Mac Plus. It was a decent machine in its
time, but I have no interest in it. The issue is not the hardware--it's
software. System 7.5.1 can run on any Mac that's been made in about the
last 10 years. If I wanted to keep running old machines, I'd like to be
able to do so.

But that's not the point. My comment about your 386 vs toys was that
you're talking about building a 386 computer from used parts. Almost no
one would build a 386 out of used parts today. Certainly, no one would buy
one. People expect new parts when they buy a computer.
