Joseph, it's very good to hear from someone at Be in 'person'. Would you
and others be interested in joining Firebug (The First Be Users' Group)
in an online meeting at IRC to do a Q & A session? Let me know of
interest level and good times to set it up. Many potential developers
and users have flooded me with mail about joining the group and I think
you would be a good resource to answer some of the burning questions.

Joseph, remember it's just a preliminary proposal; as I mentioned in a
follow-up message, starting with comp.sys.be or comp.sys.be.advocacy is
fine; I just wanted to put future plans into an open forum for discussion.

But here's another thought on my part. You surprise me!!!! Your level of
optimism should be higher. :) The number of newsgroups is NOT, nor is
EVER a function of the number of employees of a company, but is related
to the level of interest in the Usenet community. You are associated
with the company with the most interesting piece of computing hardware
which has been announced since the NeXT computer. I have not seen so
much discussion or *genuine* interest from the pivotal people in the
computing community since the NeXT shipped in 1987. The people who are
contacting me about Firebug are not idle curiosity seekers, they are high
level professionals with a track record, and they see something in your
product that seriously interests them.

Similarly, sales of a product have very little relation to the size of
the company. I just watched a company of one sell over three million
consumer products in the $20 range in less than 13 months. As your
company makes sales, the number of employees will grow.

I'm happy to see you posting, and to have your input. The visibility
of Be personnel online puts the company in a good light.

Remember that Apple started with only two people, as did Microsoft. Hey,
you have 22, and your company seems to be trying to learn from and
corect the mistakes of others. You're already out of the starting gate
with a good position. :)

Would you be interested in providing us some hardware information on
IRC? Since I've received international interest in people wanting to
join Firebug, I am considering making the first meeting or two online,
and then organizing local chapter meetings.
