                You are INVITED to the inaugural meeting
                of Firebug - the First Bebox Users' Group
                      now to be held online on IRC
                ----------------------------------------

The interest in joining Firebug has been international and I have started
a mailing list to keep everyone up to date.

Since many of the inquiries were from people who said they were too
distant to attend the inaugural meeting in Bellingham, I have decided to
make the first couple of meetings online, followed by a local meeting (and
other cities are encouraged to form Firebug chapters and hold local
meetings as well).  Be employees are *encouraged* to attend.  Please email
me if you are willing to field questions so we can firm up the format of
this meeting.

This means the first meeting will NOT be held in Bellingham as originally
announced.  We'll hold it on IRC and have a local meeting thereafter.

Many developers showing interest in joining are anxious to see a demo of
the BeBox before fully committing to the platform.  I'll see what I can do
to assist developers in obtaining concrete information.

Here is a general agenda for the first three meetings:

1.     Meeting #1 - Tuesday, Oct. 24, 1995 on IRC Channel "Firebug"
       Get on IRC and type /join #Firebug at 6:30 Pacific Daylight
       Savings Time.  (We will save a transcript and upload to the
       Internet for those who can't attend.)

       Introduction to Firebug and progress report on BeNet site,
       World Wide Web site, newsgroup(s).

       General Q&A on the BeBox computer - but do your homework
       so we won't be reiterating everything that's on the
       usenet and http://www.be.com.

       Forum with Be staff, if they are able to attend.

       Discussion of Firebug goals, structure and bylaws and
       call for nominations to the executive (tentative date for
       nominations to close is November 14, 1995).  If you are
       interested in starting local chapters, we want to hear
       from you.

2.     #2.  Submission of nominations to the executive.  Hopefully
       Q&A with Be staff, with particular emphasis on developers'
       questions and suggestions.  Feedback on bylaws.  I hope,
       by then, that the decisions on where to host BeNet (we
       a superb, experienced candidate who has offered to do this)
       and the Web site (several parties have offered to donate
       space, and, in fact, we may be able to use more than
       one, but we'll inform you at this meeting after discussing
       the issue with the folks who have contacted me).

3.     I'm trying to plan meeting #3 to be a local Pacific Northwest
       Meeting with a demo BeBox, refreshments, and perhaps
       diskettes with source files, info, etc.  Date TBA.  I
       look forward to meeting you all in person.
