Absolutely. My niece got a 486-80 for her confirmation with sound card,
CD ROM, SVGA card and WFWG preloaded. When her father set it up, it ran
VGA instead of SVGA, cause the right drivers weren't installed. No one at
the store had bothered to point this out, so they were looking at an
*extremely* crappy Windows interface instead of just a crappy one. When
I installed 800*600 256, they all went "Wow".

The point is not that the video drivers weren't installed, it's that
they weren't informed of it.

The video drivers on my WARP preload weren't installed either. But I was
*told*, and the salesman showed me where in the manual to look, and gave
pe a printout of the README file, and told me to call if I had problems,
and they'd walk me through it. As a matter of fact, I asked him if they
could partition the HD with a 200 MB c: and the rest HPFS, and install
OS/2 on the HPFS partition. No sweat, come back in a couple of hours. I
did, and this machines been humming ever since.
