YEAH!!! preech on, brother Tom!!! eheheheh... Face it people, windoze is
bloated as hell. System 7.5.1 can run on an LC with 4 megs of RAM, VERY
comfortably. that is a 16 mhz 020 mind you. 7.0.1 can even run on a Mac
Plus!!! that was the third mac to ever come out. (128k, 512k, Plus)
and when copland comes out, it will only run on a powermac, but that is
NOT because of bloatedness, it is just that 68K machines are dying and
apple doesnt want to waste their time. Copland is being written from the
ground up specifically for the power macintosh. It is all native code, and
it is wirtten EFFICIENTLY. that is the key...
oh, and to correct a post that was on here earlier, SOFTWARE WILL NOT HAVE
THE BE UPDATED TO RUN WITH COPLAND!!!! INITs and cdevs (Extensions and
Control Panels...) will have to be updated however. and even though
programs will not HAVE to be updated, certain programs could benifit from
certain small changes to take advantage of the new OSs speed. But that is
not that big of a deal, I mean, look how many times that microsoft has
screwed you over with that same type of thing....
