No, it most certainly is not for unix. Our home computers are now
exclusively networked linux boxes. We have the 'office' apps we need (WP
and spreadsheet), we have a real networking with a real networked file
system, we have excellent internet connectivity, and we have no crashes.
P75s running linux easily outpace the 7100/80s running the software we
run (WP, netscape, CAD tools etc) for a fraction of the price. The last
of our PMacs is now for sale.

I will freely conceed that my sweetheart would never have done this on
her own, and that it is only possible because I was willing to invest a
little time (surprisingly little, BTW) in learning how to manage a small
network of unixen - but the payoff is certainly exceeding that
investment of time.

Oh, and we aren't waiting for Java - we can use it now.
