*Grin* the reason for this is that the Mac's VM is such an easy target.
The so called "Ram compressors" resort to compressing RAM only after
all other methods fail --- which is pretty late in the game on a Mac,
and pretty much any time Windows can't figure how to get more memory on
its own.

But if you want a real challenge --- try writing a ramdoubler kind of
program for linux.... If you manage to actually speed up a kernel compile,
I will be impressed. You chose the machine and the amount of physical ram :-)
