ROTFL.

The same graphics cards can be used in either system. CD drives also don't
vary much. Besides, what makes you think CD drives were used in the NT
benchmark tests? (they weren't).

The point is that Byte Magazine bought (or more likely asked for free
samples of) the hardware that was being sold. If you're buying a computer
and want to know about its performance, you want to know about commercial
systems--not some theoretical hardware.
