Win95 is quite a bit different. A 16-bit app in Win95 can crash your whole system, or take complete control. A system 7.5 app can only crash the GUI process, and can only take over control of that process, not the whole OS. Servers, i/o, daemons, and other non-gui related processes continue to run in the background. Seems like a superior architecture to me. By the time there are enough 32-bit apps for Win95, we'll be enjoying complete preemptive multitasking, protected memory in Gershwin.
