I don't want anyone snooping around on my computer, period. Nobody WANTS people snooping around, and I seriously doubt claims that Microsoft was planning on doing that were simple Microsoft-bashing at it's best. If Microsoft were to give a report on the contents of your hard drive, it would have to A) be only of Microsoft applications and the serial numbers, or B) someone would have to actually sit over on the other end of the connection and snoop in realtime. In the latter, you'd notice that the registration process is taking WAAAY too long (and your hard drive is accessing too!), in the former, you shouldn't be running pirated Microsoft apps anyway.
